Soundstripe recently teamed up with The Other Nashville Society to bring fresh and new music to Soundstripe’s song library. (The Other Nashville Society, or TONS, is a community of non-country music industry professionals and artists.)
We found some of Nashville’s best up-and-coming artists that break the country-mold with genres like indie rock, pop, hip hop, and more. In collaboration with TONS, we’re launching the Artist in Residence program, which will recruit 5 artists to take part in a Song Camp and create songs for release on Soundstripe.
And we’re excited to announce that our first Artist in Residence is Brian Brown!
Nashville-based hip-hop artist Brian Brown is a blue collar rapper whose way with words and penchant for funky melodies has created a flavorful soundtrack for everyday people to navigate the struggles of our modern world while dreaming of a better tomorrow.
The charismatic, one-of-a-kind rapper has spent years building his own foundation while continuing to contribute to the greater, rising Tennessee scene. To do that, he’s been doing what his city has done best: collaborate with and support musicians.
To celebrate this month’s Artist in Residence, we are hosting a creator contest for a chance to win $500. All you have to do is license Brian Brown's new single, "Early Bird," for an original video and upload that video to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter — just make sure you tag @WorldOfBrown and @SoundstripeMusic.
This video can be as short as you want, but it must include a snippet of "Early Bird." The contest is perfect for inspiring something totally new, or pushing you to work on footage you shot that's collecting dust on a hard drive. You can also submit a client video — something you've already edited that's just missing the perfect song.
And at the end of the month, Brian will choose his favorite video and we'll award the $500 cash prize.
To enter into this contest, submit your entry by 11:59 p.m. CST on July 27.
Yup, it's that easy!
