Song Search Is Faster And Smarter Than Ever

As you may know, a few weeks ago, we improved our Filter By Categories and Tags to make finding songs easier — but we couldn't stop there. We took it a step further and decided to improve our Song Search capabilities and functionality for you too.
Our Engineering team has been working their magic to improve your search experience by increasing the search and load speed, keywords and terms known, the intuition of terms entered, and more robust results from your searches.
- More keywords are recognized and yield accurate song results (and more songs return each time!)
- Misspelled words are interpreted without spellcheck or manual spelling correction required on your part
- When you select tags from the filtering menu and/or submit your own terms to search by, the Songs page will load faster — almost immediately to the human eye
- Songs are loading and ready before you scroll, meaning less loading time on song rows as you scroll down the page to see more song results
Example: User searches by keyword "water"
Previously, a user would get search results only with the exact word "water":
Now, a user gets search results including "water" in additional words (ie. waters, waterfall, watermelon):
Example: A user tries to search for a track by Soundstripe artist Matt Wigton but accidentally searches for a misspelled last name "Wugton."
Before song search improvements, a misspelling would not render any results:
After song search improvements, even a misspelled artist name, moniker, or term will result in an accurate list of songs:

But it won't stop there! We are continuing to better and strengthen your search experience over the next few weeks and months.
We will be working on adding more keywords in our dictionary in the form of intuitive synonyms, themes (like Wedding, Christmas, Fitness, etc.), exclusive (negative) terms search, and more personalized results based on your searching and licensing needs.
As always, please feel free contact the Product Team at hello@soundstripe.com with your thoughts, likes, dislikes, and more. We're all ears — we value what you have to say!
